Can You Become A Cna While You’re Going To An Rn Program?
i am in 11th grade, my grades are excellent, and i really want a first job to be in health care
i thought about getting an ASN first [2-3 yrs], but then though “i need a job!”
so can you work as a CNA while in an RN program, or do you have to go to a separate CNA program
***or can i work in a hospital/nursing home as an aid or anything along the lines?
**i’m a guy and hard work is everyday for me

Most RN programs require that you hold your CNA license before you can begin clinical rotations in the nursing program. Many do work part time while in school to get their RN license.
You can get your CNA through a short 4-6 week course found either at community or technical colleges or private medical colleges. Sometimes nursing homes or other facilities that hire CNAs might pay for your courses or teach the courses on-site. Some states allow a test-out option where you don’t need to take the courses but rather study on your own then take the written exam and skills exam. You would need to find out from your state board of nursing if this is possible and obtain information on them which details the skills they test on, etc. so you can study them.
As far as I know you can, im not entirely sure, seeing as how im getting my CNA now ( im a jr in high school)
Sorry, hoped i helped though
In VA, you have to be at least 18 years of age to become a CNA. Besides that, your grades and stuff don’t matter.
I became a CNA right after HS and did not plan on going to college at all. All I had to do to get into my CNA program was pass a simple test. (Do I speak English? Can I do simple math problems?)
Also, you should check out nursing homes that give FREE CNA courses.
Hope this helps.
