Okay what we’re working w/ here how can I make the most out of my time
I need to be home between 5:30am-5pm
between 5-7 I think I can put other peoples children on the school bus only up to 3 at $10per hour for each
…but I would need to take a class for that which I would also need to be RE-certified every 2years (is that worth it?)
between 7-12 I home school my son
then I would sleep until about 6pm
go towork at my full time job as a nurse asistant until 3-4am mon-fri grave shift duno if thats considered mon-fri on a time card
saturday I work my part time job 20 hrs divided between sat-sun its at a bar
my nurse asistant job pays for me to go back to school…can I fit school in here some where w/out cutting back on my hours?
and if I do get that job in the future my CNA certification will expire if I dont work 12-15hrs a year.. any ideas on how I can keep it along with every thing else?
(In my free time I make jewlery and paint)

Ok, i am a CNA at a nursing home. I lost my job on january 6th. I did a hoyer transfer by myself and the nurse cauught me. (this nurse gets away with everything. The rules only apply to certain people there). I asked her for help and she just stormed out the door and told the administrator. We were short and there was no one around to help me. The next day the DON and the administrator fired me. I had been working there since i was 16.Now im almost 20. I started in dietary did activities and then became a cna. I always helped out whenever they needed me and was well loved by everyone especially the residents. When i got fired the DON and the adminstrator were both crying. they said its the hardest thing they ever had to do. THe DON and the adminstrator were both up since 3 am talking on the phone and crying on how they dont want to get rid of me. The DON was throwing up all day and the administrator ate a whole box of candy because they were so depressed on fireing me. There are residents that call me all the time and want me back. I want to go back so bad. I hate my new job in the next town and am so depressed i think about suicide constantly. My mom also has terminal cancer which i found out a few days before x-mas. A few weeks before i got fired i moved across the street from the nursing home so i could walk to work. I loved my job so much. I have never been so depressed in my whole life. The residents are going to fight for me on monday. They say the place hasnt been the same. Do u think i have a shot at getting my job back? Sorry i know this is long! But thanks for your answers! serious responses only please! thanks!!!!! =) email: heidi9672@yahoo.com

Nursing is getting more and more competitive. I’m 24 and was lucky to get into a program, even having started all my pre-reqs, volunteer hours, CNA hours right after high school. My goal was to go into any BSN program but (as I said), it’s been competitive and some BSN programs in my state require for you to be accepted as a freshman at their university (and simply can’t transfer into their program).
I noticed that people look down on LPNs. The program I’m in now (also has an RN program) is trying to do a bridge program but even the dean of nursing things we’re not “as competent”, even though the classes are the same as the RN students. (The only difference is our curriculum stops halfway if it were an RN program). It sucks because most of the people in my class have been CNAs for years (almost the same position I’ve been in) and then there are new grad BSN nurses who graduate at 21 or 22 and the only experience they have is clinical experience. I’m not saying one group is better than the other and I don’t want to offend new grads but it sucks when my own years “experience” isn’t “good enough”. I’ll be graduating next year but at this point, it’s almost a lost cause….i’m happy i’m in a program but it’s not “real nursing” and the programs keep getting more and more competitive (also, our state is cutting most health care programs). I’m thinking of finding BSN programs that I can go straight to… LPN jobs are getting scarce and I don’t want to be part of a profession that’s looked down upon and not taken seriously. I also feel that LPNs are limited to just nursing home jobs and I really want to work at a hospital…

I have been thinking of going to school to become a ultra sound tech but i wanted to know what are the steps i should take to make me a more valuable tech basically to make me stand out a better chance of landing jobs. I am 19 and i finally decided what i wanted to become i was thinking of completing a 2 year associate program for my sonogram or x ray since in 2015 it will be required to have a degree. I am choosing between both i was thinking of joining a CNA and EKG program since they are short programs and then work as a patient care tech while i enroll in college to complete my associate for ultrasound. But my friend has been telling me if i am going to do CNA and EKG i might as well become a RN nurse the problem is thats not what i am interested in I see where she is coming from because most people would become a RN after doing those programs but i just thought working as a patient care tech with certs in CNA AND EKG would give me a better resume that shows i have a background in working in an hospital at the same time i am not sure if it would be a waste of time doing these CNA and EKG programs or just go straight for Ultrasound school. My aim is just to do something prior and while going to ultrasound school that will make my resume stand out and give me a better chance of landing jobs and as much experience as possible. do you guys think doing the CNA and EKG is a waste of time would it benefit me in hope of becoming a Ultrasound tech or leave those programs alone because RN wasnt something i was too interested in doing i am passionate about doing either Xray Tech moving up to radiologist or become Ultrasound i need good advice someone with knowledge about careers and such what do employers look for will it be a waste doing these programs?

I am a CNA working in an assisted living facility as a caregiver. I have just moved up to the med tech position which i find interesting and not hard for at all. I like this position because I am learning about medications and many different things. Although the pay from what I was told by fellow caregivers and med tech was never going up from 10 dollars per hour in this company. On the other hand I got an offer in a skilled nursing facility as a cna with the starting of 11.00 – 13.00 dollars per hour and on the shift that my husband really want for me which is graveyard shift. I want to go back to school for nursing (RN) and I’m not sure which will help me more being a med tech or being a cna? Should I keep the job as a med tech or be a cna? I’m confused please help!!!
