Today was my first day working as a cna, and I keep worrying that I did a bad job. I tried my hardest but I just kept feeling like I didn’t do good. One of the residents that I was with got a skin tear. I helped her get dressed than she wanted to walk around with her walker, so I went with her. When I started to walk with her I noticed that she had a skin tear on her hand. It was pretty small. So I told someone and the LPN came and fixed it up. The CNA who was working with me and training me, told me that I’d have to fill out an incident report. But then she filled one out and told me that she was going to do it instead since she said she was in the room with her just before I was and also because I was in training so she would fill it out. Anyway I just felt like maybe I will get fired or something since I am the one that noticed the skin tear. The cna told me not too worry that skin tears happen all the time there. I don’t know if that is true or not , maybe she was just trying to make me feel better. It freaked me out because I’ve never seen that happen. I just don’t know what to think. It was my first day, so it probably looks bad, even though I have no idea how that even happened. Will they think that I did that to her and fire me? Wasn’t I supposed to fill out the incident report? I am just so lost, I am afraid of messing up or having an accident and one of the residents getting hurt. I try to be very careful with them, but I am just worried. I don’t know, should I just quit, I mean I don’t want to get blamed for something. No one seemed like they were blaming me, they were all really nice, but what if they try to blame me later? What should I do?

As I said in other post I was working there for 4yrs and up until April I wasn’t a CNA.. I was hired without certificate because I was certified at one time.. After 3 yrs I was told to get re-certified to keep my job so I spent the $700+ and took the training and passed all testing and got legally certified as a CNA in April 2006…was fired in Sept 2006. Now because I was fired does this get noted @ nurse aide registry or is it just like being fired any place else…stealing medications or physically abusing someone would cause an investigation through the state and a judgement to be made. Seperation reasons were listed as :failure to work as team player failure to finish work failure to treat residents w/respect,dignity & safely. None of these accusations are true…I can give potential new jobs resident and co-workers as references from job I was fired from which I plan to do. How hard will it be to get new job? Can I just check don’t contact & tell them to contact residents&staff?

Okay, so when I was in the army, my drill sergeant was totally amazing and so gorgous. I have since been out of the military since may of last year. It has been three years and I still cant stop thinking about him. Of course I never told him and I wouldnt why I was in the Army, because I couldn’t. But, I decided to write him the other day and he wrote back.. What do you think I should respond? Does he sound interested? Thank you!
Hey , it’s really nice to hear from you. Wow, it has been along time.Congratulation on your daughter. Yea I understand about leaving the Army. It’s hard being a single parent. The good thing is your a CNA and going to nursing school.believe it or not I still think back about me being a DS and all the PVTs I trained. But what I really remember is all the hard work and believing that all the Mad Dogs did. I will never forget and that means you too. Well I’m sorry this is short but I have to get back to work. E-mail me again soon. Sincerely, Rick
Please no rude comments. This means A LOT to me…

I’m applying as a CNA in a medical center .. any edits on my resume?
Objective
I am a dedicated service based employee looking to transition into the health care field as a nursing assistant. I am highly motivated to launch my nursing career, as I am currently enrolled in college to become a registered nurse. I am a quick learner and carry with me a background containing a high standard of customer service and a natural ability of open communication and people skills.
Education
Currently attending *** Technical College – Nursing Program, Location, WI
06/2008 *** High School, location, WI
05/2008 *** Technical College, Certified Nursing Assistant Course
Work Experience
08/2007— Present, Sales Associate—place, location, WI
I work on the sales floor, where I have gotten to know many customers on a first name basis
I have many customers that choose to only shop with me when coming in, showing my strong customer service
I met all of my standards in my reviews and was cited for my dependability, team work, connection with customers, and willingness to learn
06/2006—09/2007, Hostess– restaurant, location, WI
My job was to seat the customers, establish a time of wait, and communicate between other staff members to best suit everyone’s needs
I was always willing to help in other sections of the restaurant when needed
I trained multiple new employees, and was often scheduled the busiest shifts of the week
Volunteer Work
10/2007-06/2008, I helped tutor students several days per week to get them back on track in their classes. I helped several students who were struggling in one or all of their classes to improve their organization and finish their school work on time.
09/2004—11/2007, Key Club, A group that allowed me to volunteer through several organizations within the community. This included nursing homes, schools, or wherever else help was needed.
Or they put ridiculous expectations on the child in regards to the animal and threaten taking the pet away if they can’t solve an issue (fleas, but wont buy flea meds, expecting an 8 wk old puppy to be house trained, etc).
What is up with that? It just seems so cruel to do to a child!

I have always done some sort of care….first with children, working as a CNA in a nursing home (I really liked), then working with MRDD adults in their homes, and lastly at the hospital where I am currently employed.
My husband found out yesterday that he has Degenerative Disk Disease and I feel like I need to re-evaluate my financial situation in case he can no longer help to provide. I have been told that I would make a good nurse but I’m not sure that I have the book smarts to do it. What options do I have in the health care field? We are in our late 20′s and have 2 kids so securing our future is important but I want a job that I like.
