Cna Information?
im 19 and live in sc, weds i go to a thing to get my tb shot and classes start june 2nd to become a cna, what all do you have to do. my mom used to work as a cna and she thinks i cant handle it. so i just wanted to know some stuff about it. i know takin blood, cleanin up there vomit and what not. i have a 7 month old son and right now this seems to be my only option that has came my way that i can do… so any tips

I am a cna and we help people with activities of daily living, ie. assisting them with washing or taking showers, feeding, toileting, making beds, taking vital signs; we did not take blood either there are trained people to do that. But you may walk with them to activities or help them get ready to go with their families if they are going out. It is a satisfying career if you enjoy helping people. Good Luck!
I was a cna 6 years ago and where I am from we didnt take blood the nurses did that. But anyway you answer their call light, they might need to use the restroom, or need something. You help with feedings, change their bedding,dressing some patients might want their hair combed, assist with shaving, take blood pressures,temp, help with bathing. I will say its hard work and if you dont have the stomach for it then its the job for you. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.
