Do You Think I’m Getting Laid Off?
I am a CNA at a hospital that i only worked for 3 months, and they are shutting down my unit for “renovations” for the summer and moving us to the next unit. Trouble is, they have all the nurses and aides they need for that unit. How can we fit over there? They can’t have double the staff in that unit. So does this sound like a possible lay off in your opinion?
You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

You might, its always a good idea to watch your back. However, with your unit being shut down I would think that would mean double the work for the unit your being moved to.
I wouldnt start to panic unless you start hearing the term cutbacks being thrown around.
There is no way to know. You are in a strong industry though, so even if you are; you will find a job.
Would I jump ship? Not yet. You never know when a lay off is coming or from where. The place you go may get rid of you right off the bat.
Even if there is a lay off, who says that you will get it?
It’s possible but there are a lot of things registered nurses and lpn’s don’t do, that CNA’s are the only ones left to do. So there is a good chance you will be needed.
Yeah I would start getting your resume up to date and keep your ear to the ground for openings elsewhere just as a back up plan, it sure seems like a probable layoff. Good luck.
No! if they let you go they will send you a written notice. Don’t worry too much, that will only grey your hairs!
