Do You Work For American Ambulance?

By CNAGuide

I have been licensed since February and have yet to get a job as a EMT-I, Is it this hard for eveyone?!?
Do you know any places to apply near or around Fresno/Clovis area. I am willing to commute and have 5 years of CNA/Office experience but can’t find a job.
I just want a job at American Ambulance(I prefer) or a hospital where I can continue to learn as I continue to attend school for nursing.

Before you go out in the field, try working in an ER first. EMS is a shock to a lot of people and they realize very quickly that it’s not for them. You sound like you’ve picked the correct field but by working in a hospital, you can learn a great deal more and not have the field distractions.
Is Rural Metro in your area? The are a nationwide company, as is American Medical Response. Both are 911. Another option is to look for a job as an EMT for a general transport company (non-911 but can function as 911 back up). You can gain experience through that before going 911…get your feet wet, so to speak.
Good luck to you and welcoms to the world of EMS!!

(I can no longer do it because my 40 year old back said “Enough!!”)
