Duties Of A Cna On A Med/surg Floor?
I have an interview next week for a cna position on a med/surg floor. I was wondering what kind of duties I would be doing? Not that I am against it but would I be changing many briefs or positioning patients? I am just a little nervous as I have never worked in the health care field before.

usually checking vitals, getting the paitents drinks, changing beds. Helping the nurse do things that dont require nurese certification basically. Sometimes i think they can check blood surgars but not give insulin or medicine that is where the nurse comes in.
Yes, you will change patients, turn them, etc. Get them water, bring them food, check vitals, change dressings, alot of tasks. The nurse’s aide is like the patient’s lifeline. They are absolute lifesavers ( literally and figuratively) to a patient. A patient will have more contact with their CNA than any other healthcare worker. You will empty foleys, prepare rooms, too many tasks to list. Are you certified ?
