How Can I Quit A Job That I Just Started?

By CNAGuide

i’m a new grad cna and i was applying to several facilities. I applied to this facility and they offered me a job but the pay isnt as good. I also applied to another facility and they hired me right away. I work fulltime there and the other one only part time. I dont know if i should quit the other because they were the first one who offered me a job. I didnt expect to get hired at the second one that applied to. so right now I dont know if I should continue working at the first facility because of my fulltime schedule.

Be honest and up front with the person who hired you. They treated you fairly and you should do the same. Tell your employer that you have found another job that is closer, or a better fit than your present position. Tell them you are giving your 2 weeks notice or whatever is specified in the employment agreement you signed. They may tell you to leave immediately or they may keep you the whole two weeks but when you have to list them as former employers they should be able to say that you were good employee even if it was a very short period of time that you worked for them. Health providers are like the Army, you will run into these people over and over again and you don’t want to nix the next opportunity that you have .

This often happens and will not have a negative effect on future resumes. Employers are understanding in situations like this. Give them a two week notice explaining that you appreciate their hiring you, but was offered a full time position and better pay. This is a valid reason for quitting. Be sure to thank them for hiring you.

its a business world! you need to go for the dough and jsut give them whatever time frame you can and then go. believe me its better that you havent invested alot of time and they understand better that you know that you need to make money and jump start your career. theyre not family or friends theyre a business they know about money.

go for the one that is your ideal position
you shouldn’t be working at both jobs just because they both offered you a job
i would only work at the fulltime one.. you’ll need your days off in the medical field.

You should tell your boss there that you would like to make an appointment with him/her through a business letter. After doing so, state that your decision to join their enterprise was rushed and that you have other options at the moment that will let you grow more, make it known that you are quitting for your own personal, professional evolution and you will have succeeded at quiting a job the right way.
