I Got Fired From A Job I Loved! Is There Any Way To Get Rehired?

By CNAGuide

Ok, i am a CNA at a nursing home. I lost my job on january 6th. I did a hoyer transfer by myself and the nurse cauught me. (this nurse gets away with everything. The rules only apply to certain people there). I asked her for help and she just stormed out the door and told the administrator. We were short and there was no one around to help me. The next day the DON and the administrator fired me. I had been working there since i was 16.Now im almost 20. I started in dietary did activities and then became a cna. I always helped out whenever they needed me and was well loved by everyone especially the residents. When i got fired the DON and the adminstrator were both crying. they said its the hardest thing they ever had to do. THe DON and the adminstrator were both up since 3 am talking on the phone and crying on how they dont want to get rid of me. The DON was throwing up all day and the administrator ate a whole box of candy because they were so depressed on fireing me. There are residents that call me all the time and want me back. I want to go back so bad. I hate my new job in the next town and am so depressed i think about suicide constantly. My mom also has terminal cancer which i found out a few days before x-mas. A few weeks before i got fired i moved across the street from the nursing home so i could walk to work. I loved my job so much. I have never been so depressed in my whole life. The residents are going to fight for me on monday. They say the place hasnt been the same. Do u think i have a shot at getting my job back? Sorry i know this is long! But thanks for your answers! serious responses only please! thanks!!!!! =) email: heidi9672@yahoo.com

I dont think that they really wanted to fire you, I just think that they had to follow protocol. I would just go in one day and try talk to the head administrator and see how things are doing since you left and just talk about how you miss it and really would like to come back if at all possible and express deep regret for what happened. They might come around. I’m sure they would rather have someone who has been doing the job for 4 years to come back than to hire someone completely new to fill your place.

It sounds like they had no choice and would have kept you if the had the option.
Even if you went back, it wouldn’t be the same anymore.
    Time fixes everything
