I’m Starting A Cna Class Next Semester… I Need Advice!?
I’m starting the Nurse Assistant class next semester… what are the classes like? i go from 9am-3pm, and i go to multiple different classrooms, what am i going to be doing? are there several classes within the CNA class? Also, i’m taking two other classes along with this, am i going to be loaded up on work? Also, how old were you when you took the CNA class, i’m 18 and i’m worried i’ll be the youngest.. or will everyone else be around or a little over my age?

18 is fine. I haven’t had the classes, but was the human resources manager for a home health agency employing 200 CNA’s. You will learn catheter care, meds, bed making, how to fold a sheet that helps you move the patient, how to administer oral hygiene, bed baths, hair care, etc. Also the use of devices such as a hoyer-lift that transfers the patient from bed to bath or chair. The stand and pivot transfer of the patient. You’ll learn about a lot of possible medical problems they usually have such as diabetes, blood pressure…etc. There is so much. This is a rewarding career, but can be difficult at times as most patients are unhappy with their situation. Just be patient and caring…good luck

Hey there, I’m 18 as well.. I became a nursing assistant in the 11th grade, I was 16.. I did it through my highschool. The classes aren’t hard at all.. it’s all basically common sense stuff. No worries, you’ll do fine.
