My Boss Told My Co-workers About A Situation That Was Between My Boss And I. Privacy Issue?

By CNAGuide

I work as a CNA at a nursing home, the census was down so one of us on my unit had to go home so i said i would (my one and only time leaving and i’ve never called out) so i left. As i get home i get a phone call saying i need ot go back after driving 20 mins. back home. I said then im going to call out i’m not driving back another 20 mins (everyone else who gets canceled goes home) my boss told me i needed to check othe runits before leaving (someone must have caqlled out last miniute which probably mad emy boss mad) no one else is told to check other units before going. So now i get a text form someone i work with saying she heard about what happened….only i didnt tell anyone. Is it against the law for my boss to tell other employees about our conversation?

No. Discussions between employees and bosses are not privileged information. Though it’s in bad taste to discuss private conversations with others, it isn’t illegal.
Anyway, from your description, it didn’t sound like your boss revealed anything unusual. It sounds like he just told the others about the work situation. Nothing in your post seems to indicate otherwise.
