Please Help, I Just Got My Cna And I Need Some Advice!!!?
I know most CNA’s work in a rest home, or atleast start there, but I don’t plan on being a CNA forever, I just need to make enough to cash to move out of state by the end of next year. Also, I know some girls (not personally) who have taken the exact same class as me and they started working in a hospital right away, no rest homes. I’ve been looking on the hospital websites alot and there’s a few Medical Assistant ones, and two CNA ones, which I can’t drive to, they are clear on the other side of the state lol I live in Utah. My questions are:
1. Can a CNA apply for a Medical Assistant job?
2. Even if I can’t see anything online, should I still go to the hospital in person and ask about any jobs?
3. Everyone is telling me if I don’t get a job soon it’s going to look funny when I do apply, because I got my CNA July 1st and still haven’t found anything. My brother told me it will look like I am not eager to work.
I really really don’t want to work in a rest home. It’s so hard for me to lift and roll much heavier patients. I loved doing my clinicals there, but I can’t imagine working there. I also had a clinical at the hospital with the newborns and I LOVEDDD IT, but I really don’t think they are hiring.

I used to be a cna. You dont want to work in a nursing home. If you have trouble lifting. Then there is no need to work as a cna. its very hard. And underpaid job. Go back to college. And study to be an lpn or rn. Trust me its not worth it.being a cna. You only have to work in a facility 2 days a yr to keep up your license.You should check into that.You can get a job in a hospital. But it still requires alot of lifting. So you might want to re-think your career.
