Should I Take Some Time Off Of Nursing School To Have My Baby?
maybe I didn’t explain myself carefully the first time, okay I’m 18 and eight weeks pregnant. I am currently in nursing school. The nursing school I’m in is a residential school and I live on campus. I think I should take some time off and go home, not right now but in a couple of months. For now I plan on doing Business Office technology which only takes 3 months. I’ll be about six months when I graduate. That way I can stay at school with my baby’s father, we can graduate together, in about four months and I can go home and have the baby. After I have the baby I can work as a cna, because thats what I am now a certified nursing assistant. I can work and go to school part time while I raise my child. I want to go to my city’s community college for an RN. So am I makeing a good choice of leaving my LPN school now or should I just stick with it. If I do that then I will have to come back after the baby is born leave my baby father at home with the baby and finish the two months of LPN

I am inclined to agree with M Kerr. It is very difficult to go back after dropping the program. Not to mention you have to re-start your clinical rotations just for taking the time off. When I was 19 years old, I was in nursing school. I was injured during my clinical rotation and needed surgery. I had completed all but 2 months of my schooling but had to leave due to the surgical procedure. Upon trying to enter the program again, they informed me that I needed to do my clinical rotations all over again. Needless to say I never went back for nursing, I am going through medical school now, however it took several years. I would try to finish your schooling to become an LPN. You will benefit much more financially than you will as a CNA and it will be less stressful on your body. Once you become an LPN, nursing school is a breeze, not to mention almost any medical facility will actually pay you fully for your schooling and materials to upgrade.
after you have your baby you will want to take time off. you will be very tired.
Stick with it! Speaking from experience its harder to go back once you leave! It took me 3 yrs to go back and finish my RN!
i am in nursing school and i am popping this week with #4 you can go through school you just need to be determined to do so.
When will you finish LPN school. If it is before your due date, I would stick it out. Get as much school in as you can before you have your baby. Once the baby arrives you won’t have as much time to go to school.
I think graduating in 4 months and going home to have the baby is a good idea
If it works out that the baby will be well taken care of by the father and if your income will play a major role in your household, then I would stick with it. It is hard to go back once you quit and nursing is a great job for mothers since you can work 3 days a week if you want to. If the baby’s father can easily support your family financially then I would not place such a high priority on the schooling and focus more on raising your child for now and then finish school later.
So, the best thing for you to do is make sure you have good communication with your teachers, have good friends, and stay in school! Good luck to you!
yes getting to know your baby and time off will really help you because you will need the rest
If your end goal is to be an RN, then why even waste your time with the LPN? It’s really not necessary. You might save some money that way in the process, too.
Good luck, whatever you decide!
