What Duties Would A Cna Do In A Surgery Center?
I recently got a job offer to be a CNA in a surgery center, They will pay for my training and everything.
I know what CNA’s typically do in hopitals and nursing homes
, but since its in a surgery center, Im wondering what duties I would have…

Responsibilities: CNA is a vital member of the team to provide direct patient care relating to activities of daily living (hygiene, nutrition, comfort, activities). Responsible for cleanliness and neatness of patient’s and unit’s environment. Performs approved treatements and procedures accurately and safely. Observes, gather and reports pertinent patient information including intake and output.
The CNA position in the Surgical Center involves providing direct care to patients to get ready for same day surgery. They might assist with changing into their gowns. Surgical prep of the skin. Making an inventory of the patients’ belongings including jewelry and removable dentures. Assisting the nurses in obtaining consents. for surgery.
Making their beds and changing if soiled. If they are kept overnight, they would assist the patients in ambulation when they get out of bed the following day..
Responsibilities will also include participation in resident activities, data collection, electronic charting in the resident record, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Assist doctors and nurses during surgical procedures. They primarily work for hospitals, but may also work for physicians who perform minor surgeries, or in outpatient care centers.
