When Submitting My Resume For A Cna Position,?
What’s the best way to be chosen for a job as a full-time CNA if I haven’t worked as a CNA before? (I have worked in the hospital as a student nurse, but I changed my major.)
In my resume, should I push the fact that my background includes a lot of clerical work? (I will soon be graduating with a BA–English, and I’ve worked as an Administrative Assistant.)
I have a feeling they keep declining me because I’m not pursuing a degree in Nursing.
Well honestly your clerical background doesnt matter. CNA’s do the nurses dirty work. Its actually a crappy job. If you’re interested in doing clerical work dont apply to be a CNA at all. But if you want to then put the medical classes you’ve taken and what history and knowledge you have that has to do with the job. Its not that you’re not pursuing the nursing, its just a crappy job that has way too many people in the field. But nursing homes have CNA classes and once you finish that course then you can be a CNA. As for the BA in English good luck using that degree.

have you ever volunterred?
if not go to the closest nursing home and ask if you could
read mail to the patients etc.
do it for a few months then put it on your resume
