Frankly I don’t think 3 to 11 is bad. What time do you usually go to bed? Can’t you be in bed by 12:30? If you sleep till 8:30 you’ll get 8 hours sleep and have until about 2 in the afternoon to do what you want. If you have to work the 11 to 7 shift ii will be super easy because your patients are asleep all night and by the time they start getting up you’ll be leaving work. I don’t work nights but I usually don’t go to bed until 11 or 11:30 so I don’t see it as a problem.
It’s going to be the same as you’re old shift, except that it’s going to be light out when you sleep and dark when you’re awake. You just will have to acclimate first and force yourself to sleep when you need to even though it’s going to be tough.
You’re young, you can handle it.
